July 14th, or “14 juillet”, “La Fête nationale”, or in English, “Bastille day” is the French National Holiday and as our neighbours celebrate their special day with parades and fireworks, we’d like to wish them a very nice day and send our greetings with their flag projected across our beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle, fit for this special day.

Le Tricolore”, as the flag is called in France, has a long tradition, just like the national Anthem, “La Marseillaise” and the famous “Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité”, liberty, equality and fraternity. The white colour in the flag is said to stand for the king, blue and red are the colours of Paris.

The most impressive parade always is along the famous “Champs Élysées” from L’Arc de Triomphe to Place de la Concorde in Paris, held on the morning of 14th July, every year since 1880!

We wish you all a lovely “14 juillet”!
