For the last weekend of the Oktoberfest, Neuschwansteiner offers the unique chance to sample our famous beer at Feinkost Käfer – to celebrate the ‘5th season’ in Munich.

Wiesn Herz 1

It is probably the best known Bavarian tradition: During the last two weeks in September, Munich celebrates ‘the biggest fun fair in the world’, the Oktoberfest. Despite rain, the first weekend was as always a great success.

Munich clearly is the beer capital of the world these days – you could almost call the ‘Wiesn-weeks’ an extra season in the Bavarian capital. Traditionally since 1971 the ‘Käfer Wies’n-Schänke’ with 1,100 inside seats and 1,950 seats in the outdoors has been an established tradition at Munich’s historic Oktoberfest. The ‘Wies’n-Schänke’ is particularly well known for its high-quality products (like Käfer-duck and saddle of venison).

_MG_8305Michael Käfer is known as Oktoberfest “celebrity host”. Unlike other tents, he stays open until 0.30h, and traditionally invites celebrities from media, spots, business and showbiz. Our royal brand ambassador, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria visited the ‘Wiesn’ as well, he came with his friends from BMW for the BMW Wiesn Stammtisch at the ‘Käfer Wies’n-Schänke’ with guests and top athletes from various sports.

It looks like, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria has great fun racing BMW’s DTM drivers, including the current championship leader, Marco Wittmann.

„Not many people may know: the ‚Wiesn‘ only happens because 183 years ago my great-great-great-Grandfather, King Ludwig I. married Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen. He basically invited entire Munich to a big celebration, which was the foundation of the Oktoberfest. Of course today’s Oktoberfest, as we know it, hasn’t got much left in common with the origin.

Everything is bigger and more spectacular. Every year again, I look forward to meeting my sports colleagues at the Theresienwiese and have a chat. At BMW we are a big family, which you can feel.”

With a dry and partially sunny weather forecast, Munich is ready for the last Oktoberfest weekend

Käfer has been our partner since our early days. We are very proud to announce, that to celebrate our friendship with Feinkost Käfer, as an Oktoberfest special during opening hours Friday 30th and Saturday 1st October 2016, Neuschwansteiner offers ‘Neuschwansteiner beer tasting’ in the Delicatessen store at their ‘Stammhaus’ (principal company building) at Prinzregentenstraße 73 at a special promotion stand.

A visit to this incredible store currently is even more than ever worth a trip since the entire building has been lovingly decorated in Bavarian Oktoberfest style.

Kafer-cc2We send a big thank you to Feinkost Käfer for placing us so nicely during Oktoberfest time and invite you to come by if you are in Munich.

Of course we have several friendly connections with Käfer, for example in the famous BMW Welt where Neuschwansteiner is served in Bobby Bräuers Restaurants „Bavarie“ and „EssZimmer“.

If you miss our Käfer-Oktoberfest sampling, we have good news for you: We are available all year round at Käfers Delicatessen Store. To make it even more special, Neuschwansteiner is also available through the special edition gift-catalogue – with exclusive personalised cards.

If you are too far away from our beautiful Bavarian capital, you can also easily order online at Feinkost Käfer online shop!!
