We have posted about his success during this year’s FIA Formula 3 European Championship a few times and as he slowly approaches the final three race weekends of this season, we’d like to take the time to congratulate Maximilian Günther and introduce this young racing driver a bit more.

Just before his 19th birthday, he took a visit to the FORMULA 1 GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2016 as expert commentator for Austrian Life Radio.

He was interviewed by Speedweek www.speedweek.com reporter Vanessa Georgoulas as well as ORF TV’s live reporter Marc Wurzinger.

During a stroll through the paddock, Maxi met up with Sky Germany commentator Sascha Roos, and caught up with another young German racing driver, Manor Mercedes F1™ driver and reigning DTM-champion Pascal Wehrlein.

He seemed to have a chat with Christian Nimmervoll of Germanys www.motorsport-total.com about our Neuschwansteiner bottle, and chatted with RTL’s famous reporter Kai Ebel whom he knows from the Deutsche Post Speed Academy.

The German media obviously showed quite some interest in Maxi and his recent success as the guys from www.motorsport-magazin.com also stopped for a chat.

So far the 19-year old has scored nine impressive podium finishes, making Top Three finishes in 43 percent of all races so far. 21 of this season’s 30 races have been contested so far, the 21 races were won by 10 different drivers. Maxi is currently enjoying the summer break which we find he has well deserved. In recent weeks, Maxi had a lot on his plate, with all the racing and his school-leaving exams.

He truly enjoyed a long racing conversation with Le Mans star and former F1™ driver Allan McNish, discussing junior formula racing with the Scotsman before engaging into a similar conversation with former GP™ driver Marc Surer from Switzerland.

Meeting our Neuschwansteiner Brand Ambassador, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria, clearly was one of the highlights of his weekend’s visit.

As we just found out, Maxi just competed in his first triathlon and sums up his plans for the remaining two weeks before attacking again at the next race: “It’s now time for me to recharge my batteries. I don’t intend to spend my time lazing around, however. I will obviously continue to work on my fitness, because I want to be in peak form for the final sprint. And then the season resumes with one of my home races at the Nürburgring.

From September 9 till 11, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship runs during the DTM race weekend and traditionally ten thousands of enthusiastic German motorsport fans can be expected.
