Since 2003 the FELIX BURDA FOUNDATION honours the most successful and innovative projects towards colon cancer prevention with the FELIX BURDA AWARD. With 2,65 billion contacts thanks to print-, radio- online-, and TV-coverage, it has become one of the most sought-after networking-events of the German health-community.
During its first decade, the FELIX BURDA AWARD has honoured 65 winners, including but not limited to internationally well known stars such as Vladimir Klitschko, Erol Sander, or Günther Jauch or companies like ThyssenKrupp, EADS, BASF or BMW and pharmacists, doctors, scientists, journalists or privateers.
As the renowned Mayo clinic states: Colonoscopy and other screening methods make colorectal cancer one of the most preventable cancers.
Last year’s gala event in Berlin saw 300 guests from economy, science, politics and show-biz at famous hotel Adlon Kempinski. Christa Maar, president of the FELIX BURDA FOUNDATION stated: “Thanks to the commitment of people like our award winners, it was possible that colon cancer prevention was able to prevent 180.000 new cases and 80.000 deaths by colon cancer!”
The award covers three categories: workplace prevention, medicine and science, commitment of the year.
We are very much looking forward to this year’s event at the famous BMW World in Munich, being official beverage partner of the award. The top-class jury as well as the guest-list read like the “who is who” of German and international sports World Champions and stars from the worlds of music, film and TV topped with renown doctors and professors.
Michael Ballhaus, Paul Breitner, Uschi Glas, Barbara Schöneberger, Nina Ruge, Marie Luise Marjan, Reinhold Messner, Vladimir Klitschko, Regina Halmich.
Carsten Frederik Buchert, Director Marketing & Communications, Felix Burda Stiftung said: „I have been curious about Neuschwansteiner for quite a while and therefore I am even more delighted that we are able to serve it to guests of the Felix Burda Award on April 17. Even though, I have to add, that an “Edelmärzen” would have fit even better into the bowel cancer-month march.”
Neuschwansteiner CEO and founder Christian Seitz said: “Our health is of course most important and prevention saves lives! We are honoured and proud to support the FELIX BURDA AWARD as official partner. ”
