Since 2003 the FELIX BURDA FOUNDATION honours the most successful and innovative projects towards colon cancer prevention with the FELIX BURDA AWARD. With 2,65 billion contacts thanks to print-, radio- online-, and TV-coverage, it has become one of the most sought-after networking-events of the German health-community.

During its first decade, the FELIX BURDA AWARD has honoured 65 winners, including but not limited to internationally well known stars such as Vladimir Klitschko, Erol Sander, or Günther Jauch or companies like ThyssenKrupp, EADS, BASF or BMW and pharmacists, doctors, scientists, journalists or privateers.

As the renowned Mayo clinic states: Colonoscopy and other screening methods make colorectal cancer one of the most preventable cancers.

Last year’s gala event in Berlin saw 300 guests from economy, science, politics and show-biz at famous hotel Adlon Kempinski. Christa Maar, president of the FELIX BURDA FOUNDATION stated: “Thanks to the commitment of people like our award winners, it was possible that colon cancer prevention was able to prevent 180.000 new cases and 80.000 deaths by colon cancer!”

The award covers three categories: workplace prevention, medicine and science, commitment of the year.
