Neuschwansteiner in Switzerland

Park Hotel Vitznau is the ideal starting point from which to discover the breath-taking scenery of Central Switzerland and located in an idyllic setting on the shores of Lake Lucerne, not far from the legendary Rütli meadow. Vitznau had been attracting the emerging tourism market since the opening of the Vitznau-Rigi Railway, Europe’s first cogwheel railway, in 1871.

In spring 1903, after around three years of building work, the Park Hotel was opened. Alongside prominent figures from business and industry, guests at the Park Hotel also numbered artists and actors from home and abroad. In celebration of the hundred year jubilee, a series of glamorous and spectacular ball nights were held, just as in 1903.

Their motto is: When elegance meets excellence

Behind hundred year old walls lies a wonderfully inviting interior. The extensive renovation work at the Park Hotel Vitznau has fully embraced the notion of ‘maintain the past, create the future’. 47 residences, suites and junior suites await their guests. State of the art technology has been integrated into the elegant and luxurious décor of this magnificent historical building, and nostalgic charm at its most beautiful has been combined with the highest level of comfort, fulfilling a visionary concept. The hotel has three main themes, Wine & Dine, Art & Culture and Health & Wealth.

Six impressive stars!

In addition, the hotel was named “Gault Millaut Hotel of the Year 2014 and is member of the “Leading hotels of the world”.

To reach the Restaurant focus, guests pass by the glass walled wine cellar dedicated to French wines and in doing so, enter a world influenced by the lake and its surrounding nature. 34-year old Head Chef at restaurant ‘focus’, Nenad Mlinarevic has been awarded “Chef of the year 2016”. Mlinarevic succeeded moving directly into the 2-star league already shortly after the opening of ‘focus’. When reconfirming his two-star rating for 2016, the MICHELIN inspectors wrote about him: “… the best products and those come into full effect in the reduced, coherent and powerful dishes.”

Dine at Head Chef Nenad Mlinarevic’s Gourmet Restaurant focus and enjoy an exceptional culinary experience with seasonal, elegant and harmonious creations.

Guests enjoy exciting creations inspired from around the globe- prepared using the finest regional products. MICHELIN said about “Prisma” by Executive Chef Christian Nickel and Chef de Cuisine Patrick Mahler: “A classic cuisine is served, which is influenced by various regions of the world.”

Christian Seitz, Neuschwansteiner CEO and founder said: “The ‘Park Hotel Vitznau’ is an incredible hotel and a first class address. For us it is an honour that their guests enjoy our Neuschwansteiner. Most importantly we congratulate both of their restaurants to have reconfirmed their MICHELIN star ratings. Well done and much deserved!”

Mark Thomas Müller, F&B Manager Park Hotel Vitznau said: “During the summer months, the Neuschwansteiner beer has been enjoyed with delight on our lake terrace. During the winter months, we now serve it in our bar. The noble presentation in the silver champagne cooler in combination with the stylish bottle design is amazing and was very much appreciated by our local and international guests.”
