Our Royal Neuschwansteiner ambassador stays on track

With spring officially having started March 20th, motor racing is also getting back on track in Europe. Those with a passion for motor sports like us know that once you have caught the racing bug, you have it, most probably for lifetime.
We are super proud of our Royal brand ambassador, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria, who could have easily decided to retire from racing and travelling to the various race track of the world years ago, but obviously is as keen as always to enjoy fast cars and driving at the limit.

As H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria enthusiastically explains: “I really enjoy racing with the same passion to this day and have to admit that I still have the race fever.
The best thing however is that I don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore! I can race and drive without any pressure.
Of course back in the days when I was actively competing as BMW works-driver for six years, I raced at the limit of danger. That wasn’t always without danger, of course, especially having four kids.
Today I can drive just for fun. But that doesn’t mean I am going slow! When I drive the BMW race taxi, I am of course responsible for my passengers. They want to enjoy the buzz and thrill of going fast and close to the walls, but also feel safe. The sound for example of the 635 is just incredible- everyone turns their heads!”
We caught up with H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria ahead of his busy schedule to give you a bit of an idea how his Royal schedule looks like for the upcoming months, and that is besides all other events and representing appointments he needs to attend.
H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria said: “Racing for fun without pressure is the perfect combination.
When I am at the races now, I can do that and at the same time I can see and feel the pressure, the stress of the other active racing drivers.
How they are focussed and competitive. It reminds me of my times, when I always gave everything to get to the limits. Today it seems to have gotten even more stressful with new technologies and car data. We had to find and set our own braking points, and gear ratios etc.. Now all technologies play into that as well. Now for me, the burden of pressure is gone and has given the way for pure racing fun.”
I am very proud being brand ambassador for BMW and to be able to drive their famous and fabulous historical classic race cars! I am grateful that I am still able to do this at my age!
Christian Seitz Founder and CEO of Neuschwansteiner said: “We are very proud and needless to say, extremely fond of our brand ambassador, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria.
He has become much more than an ambassador, he is our friend and we follow his ambitions on track closely. I have said it many times, to wish H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria ‘drive safe’ would be unnecessary, as we know, he races fast and safe!
However we of course wish him a perfect start into his new racing season and most of all much fun, as we know this is his main motive to keep on racing!
Those lucky ones who are able to catch a ride in the DTM BMW Classic cars race taxi with the Prince, will never forget their Royal ride as it really is a fantastic experience how professionally concentrated yet enthusiastically full of joy he is racing precisely calculated millimetres along the walls with a big smile inside his helmet!”
