3rd season’s victory in Zandvoort Maxi meets H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria
Congratulations to our young racing talent Maximilian Günther with a Start-to-finish victory and another 2nd place at Zandvoort he gained 30 points in the title chase During the DTM-race weekend at the dunes track in Zandvoort, Netherlands, the FIA Formula 3 European championship started into the second half of the season.

Prema Powerteam driver Maximilian Günther made an impressive comeback, celebrating his third win of the season and making podium appearances in two of three races. With eight Top Three finishes in 18 races so far this season, he has consolidated his second place in the standings. During the course of the Netherlands fixture, Günther made a 30-point dent in the championship lead of his team-mate, Lance Stroll.
With a big smile in his face, Maxi looked back at Sunday’s race and said: “That was just about as perfect a race as you could wish for. The start was the key to success. I got off the mark really well from pole and entered the first corner as race leader. After that, I was able to set consistent lap times and also manage my tyres. Whenever my team-mate Nick got a little too close for comfort, I changed gear and controlled the pace at the front. I had the race under control at all times.
Thanks to my guys at Prema for the perfect car!
We notched up three one-two victories at Zandvoort. I am pleased to have supported the team in this.”
In the second race on Saturday, he finished only one second behind the race winner in second place. Adding P4 in Race 1 to the two podiums, he scored more vital points in the battle for the championship, reducing the gap to the leader, Lance Stroll, by 30 points.
Maxi is sure this was significant in the title fight: “It just goes to show how quickly the tide can turn when you have three races per weekend. Things have not been going at all badly for me recently – I’ve had at least one podium finish per race weekend. Lance was having slightly better luck, which allowed him to build up a lead in the championship. The fact that I have now reduced that deficit by 30 points gives me extra confidence. At the same time, I’ve managed to extend the gap to third place. Consistency is the key if you want to have a say in the title fight.”

Just recently, Maxi had the chance to meet our Royal Brand Ambassador and friend, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria for the first time. As you can tell from our pictures, the two racing drivers hit it of real well instantly and seemed to have mutual interests to talk about.

Christian Seitz, Neuschwansteiner CEO and founder said: “It seems that every race weekend, Maxi comes back with yet at least one more podium trophy. All of us at The world of Neuschwansteiner are impressed, this time it is a victory and a second place trophy.

We will need to send some Neuschwansteiner his way, so he can toast with his great Team Prema Racing to more podiums and victories to come. Of course for us it is great to see that our Royal Brand Ambassador and good friend, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria met up with our young racing talent.“
Surely they had a lot to talk about their passion – racing!
