We wish all F1™ teams & drivers a great Italian Grand Prix™ weekend

The race in Monza’s royal park marks the end of F1’s™ European season. Traditionally the Tifosi are very enthusiastic fans. With the new podium ‘hovering’ over the start finish straight, and fans allowed on the track after the end of the race it always makes for a very special atmosphere during prize giving ceremonies!

The circuit is situated in a Royal Park at the edge of the town, which itself is a suburb of Milan. The Monza circuit has hosted more Grand Prix™ events than any other circuit.  The track opened in 1922. Also known as the Autodromo Nazionale, Monza was constructed by the Milan Automobile Club in the early 1920’s.

The original Monza track incorporated long banked sections, but safety concerns saw  significant modifications, which included the removal of the banking from the circuit and the inclusion of a number of chicanes. The very steep banking can still be witnessed only a few hundred yards from the pits.

Monza also always sees some high profile VIPs and celebrities in the paddock, like racing legend Mario Andretti and David Hasselhoff.

Of course the Ferrari drivers are the main favourites with the Tifosi and they get very excited during autograph sessions.

Last but not least, our congratulations of course go to Nico Rosberg who became a father for the first time last weekend! Happy Birthday to Sauber-driver Marcus Ericsson for his birthday. We are very proud that Marcus also signed our special edition Svarovsky studded Neuschwansteiner bottle for ZOOM charity.

The bottle, signed by almost all F1™ drivers, will be auctioned off at a special occasion for charity to benefit the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The Italian grid girls always turn heads in the paddock as well as on the starting grid. We suspect, Sebastian Vettel is happy to have them back here for his Ferrari home Grand Prix™. We remember, he was one of the many people complaining about the innovation of having grid boys in Monaco.

Monza also always makes for great parties, the best being held at famous night club ‘Byblos’, where Eddie Irvine usually shows up when he is in town; as well as at ‘Just Cavalli’, run by Gr1d Club. Last year, former F1™ driver Giancarlo Fisichella performed as star-DJ at ‘Byblos’.
