951 guests from politics, business, sports, arts and media gathered for the 18th Opera Gala at Opera Frankfurt and joined to raise 860.000€ to secure artistic qualities of the opera.
To prove the high standard of the operas qualities, guests were able enjoyed the performances of the stars of the evening, fantastic solo artists who performed – from Carmen to Don Giovanni – a versatile repertoire, accompanied by the opera choir as well as the opera and museum orchestra.
If you look closely at the media clippings, you can our friend David Knower enjoying a chilled Neuschwansteiner with US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs, Stephen Hedger! Our beer was served on silver trays and much enjoyed. David Knower said with a smile: “Men prefer beer” – he made it possible that in addition to the traditional champagne nearly thousand guests at the festive gala were able to enjoy our royal Neuschwansteiner beer!
Artistic director Bernd Loebe presented the evening with much humour throughout the musical program. In the end the big stage turned and displayed festive decorated dinner tables for a delicious gala dinner.
In a musical performance general music director Sebastian Weigle tamed a cat choir à la Rossini around midnight, consisting of the gala ensemble. Afterwards dessert-pyramids, live Jazz, dancing and networking guests celebrated in the foyer of the opera into the night.
