H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria interview

Every model probably keeps her very first cover. We are very proud to now have our first cover story by gourmet magazine “The Culinarian”.

The gourmet publication features a very interesting interview with our brand Ambassador, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria. To start with, he explains the beer tradition in his family, reaching back to his great-great-great grandfather, King Ludwig I., who founded the famous Oktoberfest when inviting entire Munich to his wedding.

H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria remembers: “Three years ago, I met (Neuschwansteiner CEO and founder) Christian Seitz and tasted the beer. I was very surprised, because I think he has found a way to lift beer onto a new level. …I had never had beer from a champagne bottle before. That surely was an eye-opener.”

The Prince talks about the ingredients, the water “from our mountains, right next to Neuschwanstein Castle, which was built by my great great-uncle Ludwig II. …” and he states:

„I am a committed Neuschwansteiner-connoisseur!”

We also learn, where the Prince likes to dine, and what the strangest food was, he ever ate, many years ago in Hong Kong: “It wasn’t event that bad, but when I asked my host, what it was, he said, I shouldn’t ask. I am sure it was a piece of rat; I almost got sick when I heard that. Another extreme was a hedgehog which they had pumped up and cut off the spines. What I don’t like to eat at all – although I do like Salami – is horse. I love horses and would find it difficult to eat.”

At the end, H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria even reveals his future travel dreams: India, Nepal or Burma.

Thank you very much “The Culinarian”, we love the interview and the great photos!
