Supporting famous ice-hockey club with great tradition

We are very happy to announce that we have entered a new partnership with the ice-hockey club EV Füssen. The club, which has an outstanding tradition and has been famous over decades, has been re-organized and newly formed and now starts with support by Neuschwansteiner into a new area.

Founded in December 1922 as “Eissportverein Füssen”, between the 1940ies and 70ies the club was one of Germany’s most dominating teams. Winning 16 German championships made them the second most successful club in Germany.

Former goalkeeper Thomas Zellhuber is the new coach, Max Holzmann is sporting director and youth coach, and Lukas Jentsch (22) ended his career as defence player to become the new chairman, the youngest ever in the club’s history.

Lukas Jentsch, chairman EV Füssen said: “We thank Neuschwansteiner for their trust in us and look forward to an interesting partnership with a fascinating company. Beer and ice-hockey is a perfect match, in addition with the obvious regional connection, the cooperation between the EV Füssen and Neuschwansteiner makes twice as much sense.”

Christian Seitz, Neuschwansteiner CEO and founder said:

“The EV Füssen stands for decades of great ice-hockey tradition and heritage in Germany. We at Neuschwansteiner are at home in the world but never forget our home. Local sport and of course the hockey of the EV Füssen are an affair to our hearts. Therefore for us it is important to support the EV Füssen at their new start. As a new partner to the team, we wish them a successful comeback and many goals for the upcoming season, so they will have many good reasons to celebrate with us.”

Great news for the team also comes from another supporter: Campino of the famous band “Die toten Hosen”. The music-star is not only an ice-hockey fan, but also a member of the EVF. During a recent concert, he wore his EVF-jersey and dedicated the song “Get up when you are on the ground” to the club.

We will continue to post news and soon also come cool pictures of our Neuschwansteiner on the ice, so stay keep watching our blog for more about the EVF!

We wish the entire club a great season and successful games!
