We are proud to have been supporting a very good cause again and thank our friend Nigel Essam of Red Eye events to have made the connection. Thursday 8th June 2017 at A Night For Life in aid of The National Brain Appeal we became part of an unforgettable evening and helped to make a real difference.
The NIGHT FOR LIFE BALL was a celebration of music, comedy and magic as stars of stage and screen came together for one night only in aid of the National Brain Appeal at the beautifully re-furbished Park Lane Hotel.
Neuschwansteiner was served as welcome drink as well as accompanying the lavish banquet approved by Elizabeth Allen, the youngest ever British female to get a Michelin Star.
The evening’s host, ITV Sport presenter Ed Chamberlin, guided through an entertainment extravaganza organised by West End Producer Jimmy Jewell, featuring impressionist Jon Culshaw, world class magicians, a luxury live auction with Charlie Ross, stars from the West End productions of Aladdin, Dreamgirls, The Book of Mormon, Wicked and The Lion King, and top names including Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ashleigh Gray (Wicked The Musical), Antony Hewitt (Aladdin), Nicholas McLean (The Book of Mormon), Irvine Iqbal (Aladdin), Joelle Dyson (Dreamgirls), Lauren Chia (Aladdin), The Twin Swing, Itch + Scratch and Jon Culshaw (Dead Ringers) were among the stage and screen stars performing at A Night For Life, an event marking the two-year anniversary of Clíodhna McCorley’s diagnosis with a brain tumour.
The National Brain Appeal raises vital funds for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery –the UK’s largest dedicated neurological hospital and neuroscience centre.
There are over 12.5 million people with a neurological condition in the UK today. That’s more than the number of people living with cancer, coronary heart disease and diabetes.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 more than any other cancer. Stroke is the fourth single largest cause of death in the UK and second in the world. Dementia is now the leading cause of death in England and Wales.
Most of the funds raised on the evening will complete Molly’s Fund which will enable the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery to double the size of its current dedicated brain tumour unit.
“I owe my life to this hospital. Raising funds is vital to ensure they can continue their pioneering work and save lives.”
– Clíodhna McCorley
