Cologne for gourmet capital two days
Congratulations to Chef-Sache and Thomas Ruhl, Initiator of the event. Famous star-chefs, exclusive delicatessen and many interesting culinary topics made the event in Cologne a huge success. Hopeful up-and-coming young chefs received awards; star chefs presented and explained their creation and food experts and gourmet-fans were able to enter interesting discussions.
Ten shows on stage kept all guests entertained. These included a virtual reality show by Tim Raue about future restaurant concepts, Jock Zonfillos explanations about Australian Bush Food and the second round of the Cru-de-Cao-Awards of aspiring and established patissiers.
Our friend Ralf Bos from BOS FOOD acted as ‘talk-master’ amongst the high-profile guests and speakers. He said: ”Chef-Sache is a class reunion by the aspiring gastronomy. Here, and exactly here, Neuschwansteiner is at home!” Congratulations to Ralf and BOS FOOD for winning the prestigious award as “Best Company” and Ralf as “Grand Seigneur”.
3.100 gourmet-guests, including over 200 (!!) MICHELIN-stars enjoyed this culinary event at Palladium in Cologne for two days.
Twelve star chefs like Sven Elverfeld, Christian Bau and Stefan Wiesner together with legendary 3-star chef Grant Achatz from “Alinea”, “Next” and “Aviary Bar” in Chicago, Jock Zonfrillo from Adelaide, Australia, Mitsuharu Tsumura with his new cuisine from Peru’s Andes and Swedish Magnus Ek.
The ‘local hero’ was 2-star-chef Eric Menchon form “Le Moissonnier.
As it comes to dessert, we still wonder how 3-star chef Massimo Bottura from Modena came up with his idea of his “Oops! I dropped the lemon tart” –signature dish, served upside down on a plate that seems broken. Hats off to him: He had all guests come on stage for his “mass-selfie”.
We hear that the after-party, also called “shipwrecked-party” went on until the early hours
